I am a stay at home mom and a shopkeeper. We offer handcrafts created on the premises, consignment, cottage industry products, imports and embellished imports.
We carry a lil of this and a lil of
that. Primitive country handcrafts and more! A lil shop worth the stop...dedicated to a simpler time.
This is the lil katydid that was visiting me one evening as I worked on the computer after hours. He was clicking and then making his calling noise. I will try to post that for you as well. He seemed to be rather friendly and wanted to be close to me overlooking what I was up to. When my husband came in and I pointed him out he seemed to be a bit agitated and started diving from here to there. It was a bit creepy at that point but it was also fun to have him here.
What are those gloves saying...
This is how my hubby dries his work gloves!!! I think it is so cool...and funny. They always end up in different formations...pointing to the sky or saying "rock on" or I love you in sign language!
We Expanded the Shop...
Two rooms to browse in...
I LOVE Homespun...
Homespun is one of my favorite things in this world. I love the colors and the feel of 100% cotton. I like to sew and embellish using homespun on just about everthing. I sell bundles of fat quarters at the shop and lil rolls of fabric. I have some adorable lil pillas (pillows) in my shop, handmade from homespun and muslin.
filled with spices, tea and mulled cider pkgs, rice, oatmeal and more!
This tells it all. My two little ones are something else. The lil girl, Michaella, loves to torment her big brother. Nathanael is a good sport to say the least. He does everything for her and looks out for her all the time. He is a huge helper at the shop. He opens and closes for me everyday, sometimes even making a point to get home just to close the shop when he is out with his grammy. He will be behind the counter one day.
What an incredible sky that day.
I took the lil ones up the road to South Pond for a little dip to cool off, we had been having terrible thunderstorms that week and the sky was just beautiful. It is a blessing to be able to jump in the car and drive 10 min. down the road to such a peaceful spot.
Look at this place...
Here is where we are going to be spending a wonderful, amazing week. The front, facing the ocean, has a deck and the beach right outside the door is private! I can not wait. I have never ever stayed on the ocean for more than a day. On my honeymoon, one of the days were spent in a hotel right on the water.
"A lil shop...worth the stop" dedicated to a simpler time!
This is a logo made by my daughter Christiana. The original drawing was mine from pen and ink. She took the design and used Adobe Acrobat. She was very young when she did this ....she is one of the most talented woman that I know. She can do anything! Anything she puts her hands on becomes a work of art!!! I am a proud mother to say the least.
I see some unbelievable scenes right from my back door. In addition to incredible skies there are misty mornings over the river, hot air balloons sailing by, the train, the deer and at night the sounds of coyotes can be heard almost daily. I love it here and feel so blessed.
We strolled along the brick path and watched the boats go by as it got dark. Very romantic!
Blue Hydrangeas in Boston by the Bay
On my trip to Boston there were these beautiful Hydrangeas all along the docks...this photo has not been altered...they were that blue!
Our Trip to Boston
We were supposed to take a cruise with hubby's company. Long story short...we missed the boat! So we enjoyed walking and talking along the bay. It was really beautiful.
Hubby and Me
"The Boots" ~ My Haymakers Boots
These boots have been with me for 6 years through rain and snow. They are wonderful! They sit on the porch next to an old tool that one of the haymakers may have used. Everyone that comes in the shop loves them...so I decided to make some available for folks to take home and put in their gardens or on their porch! Haymakers were and are hard working men, women and children. They had a tough chore ahead of them each year bringing in the hay. I love my boots and hope you all love yours. I am going to tell you all how to make them!!!
